Covid-19 Ventilation Guidance

The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) have published Covid-19 Ventilation guidance in response to the potential threat of airborne aerosol transmission of SARS-CoV-2.

Evidence continues to suggest that in poorly ventilated indoor spaces airborne aerosols are a possible transmission route. The World Health Organisation (WHO) have supported this by saying “evidence was emerging” that Covid-19 can spread through the air in enclosed spaces. Further to this, Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) have said facilities managers should be revisiting their ventilation strategies to minimise possible transmission risks as more buildings reopen following the lockdown period.
